Refrigerants

The release of refrigerant gases into the environment can be harmful to both the potential occupants of the space, as well as to the environment in general. Chlorofluorocarbons and hydrofluorocarbons, commonly known as CFCs and HFCs, which were formerly considered relatively safe, are now known to be a significant contributor to climate change. While these older refrigerants are gradually being replaced by more environmentally friendly refrigerants this does not lessen the need for leak detection. Regardless of their reduced impact on the environment, even modern refrigerants pose the risk of displacing the oxygen in mechanical/chiller rooms, should a leak occur and are generally required by code.

We are continuously adding to the list of refrigerants we can detect. Below is a list of some of the most common, but if you don't see yours listed please contact us.
